Most of it. Buses, trams, the DLR, and the Overground? Bring your pooch. The entire Underground network? Yep, even the deep-level Central line.
But here’s the tricky part: escalators. TfL strongly recommends you don’t let your dog ride an escalator. Those moving stairs are nail-biting for paws. If your dog is small, pick them up. If they’re big and stubborn—like a Lab with an opinion—use the lift instead. You’ll look like a considerate hero.
The Unofficial Exceptions
Rush hour? Please avoid it. Nobody wants your Great Dane’s butt in their face at 8:30 AM. Off-peak is the sweet spot. Also, watch for “no dog” signs at certain stations—like some Disneyland-style events or football matches. TfL can also ban dogs from a specific carriage if it’s full. Don’t be that person who argues.
