Don’t use diced tomatoes with Italian seasoning. That’s for pasta, not chili.
That pre-added oregano and basil will clash with your cumin and chili powder. It’s a flavor fight, and nobody wins.
Also, stay away from whole peeled tomatoes in puree unless you love crushing them yourself. Which is fine, but it’s added work.

And for the love of all that is spicy, never use tomato sauce meant for spaghetti. It’s too smooth. Too sweet. Too wrong.
