There’s this idea floating around that every shop opens at the crack of dawn. Like, 5 AM, before the coffee has even brewed. Is that true? Nope, not anymore. Retailers have gotten a little more human over the years.
Most big stores now aim for a 7 AM or 8 AM start time. But let’s be real—some still cling to that 6 AM madness for the serious doorbusters. You’ll need to check your specific store, because every chain seems to have its own secret schedule.
Why They Changed the Times
Remember the old days? You’d stumble out of bed, still in your pajama pants, and line up in the dark like it was a rock concert. Retailers realized we’re all exhausted. Christmas is a marathon, not a sprint. So they pushed the times back a bit—thank goodness.
Plus, online shopping is a thing now. Why freeze your toes off when you can snag that half-priced air fryer from your phone at 6 AM? Many stores even start their sales online on Christmas Eve. You can shop without leaving the couch. Game changer, right?
