Spoiler: Nobody is eating anybody (mostly). You’ll find smooching toads in spring. They pile on top of each other like a warty, amphibian mosh pit. It’s adorable and frankly, a bit ridiculous.
Then there are the dragonflies. These are the fighter jets of the bug world. They zoom, hover, and snatch mosquitoes mid-air. You’ll feel like you’re watching an aerial dogfight over the lily pads. Superhero vibes only.
A fish called… wait, what’s that splashing?
Watch the water closely. You’ll see carp the size of your leg. They’re lazy, chubby celebrities. They sunbathe just inches below the surface. If they could wink at you, they would.
And don’t forget the terrapins. These little turtles are the escaped pets that said, “Nah, I’m staying.” They’ve gone full wild child. You’ll spot them sunbathing on logs, looking smug.
