When I say “fraction,” I mean a simple ratio like 3/4 or 22/7. Two whole numbers stacked on top of each other. That’s it.
If a number can be written as a/b (where a and b are integers, and b isn’t zero), it’s rational. Every fraction you’ve ever seen in grade school is rational. Even 0.333… is rational—it’s just 1/3 in disguise.
So when someone asks, “Can π be a fraction?” they’re really asking, “Can I trap π inside two neat little integers?” And the answer is: nope. Not a chance.
