Don’t sleep on Father Christmas. Yes, that Father Christmas. He shows up mid-war, hands out magical weapons, and says, “Merry Christmas.” Timing is everything, I guess. He gives Susan a bow that never misses, and Peter a sword that can’t be broken. Practical gifts. Unlike socks.
There’s also a centaur named Oreius, but he’s more of a background character. Still, centaurs are half horse, half human, which means he’s basically a horse with a torso. Imagine that at a dinner party. “Pass the hay, please.”

The Real Stars: The Animals
Narnia is packed with talking animals. Wolves are the witch’s secret police. Bears fight alongside the children. Even mice—like the heroic Reepicheep—have huge roles later. But in this first book, the animals are mostly comic relief or cannon fodder. Poor beavers.
One of the best moments? The stone animals coming back to life after Aslan’s death and resurrection. It’s like a block party, but with a lot of marble dust.
