First, forget anything you’ve seen on telly. Real escape rooms are better. You’re physically inside the game. You touch the props, you decipher the codes, and you scream at your friend who’s holding a key and doesn’t know it. It’s chaotic, hilarious, and genuinely challenging.
ClueQuest is a standout in London’s escape room scene. They have multiple themed rooms, each with its own story. You aren’t just solving random locks. You are saving the world. You are foiling an evil plan. You are, in your own humble opinion, a genius.
The Missions You’ll Choose
ClueQuest offers a few different adventures. My personal favourite is Operation BlackSheep. You are a secret agent breaking into a villain’s lair. The villain is a giant sheep called Dr. Sheep. Yes, really. It’s as bonkers as it sounds, and it is so much fun.
Another classic is The Lost Mummy. You are in an Egyptian tomb, looking for a stolen artifact. It’s dark, it’s spooky, and you’ll probably knock over a plastic skeleton. Don’t worry, we’ve all done it. Then there’s Escape from the Crazy Cat Lady, which is exactly what you imagine: a house filled with cats (fake ones, thank goodness) and puzzles. It’s purr-fectly mad.
