So why should you care? Because this whole complex, cold, buzzing ballet of forklifts and diesel fumes ensures that you can buy a pack of butter at 7:59pm on a Sunday. You do not need to thank the logistics team. They don’t want your thanks. They want you to stop putting the cheese in the wrong fridge at home.
Next time you see a Co-op lorry, give it a little wave. It’s full of eggs from a chicken in Derbyshire, bananas from a boat in Southampton, and the quiet desperation of a driver who just wants to find a toilet. That, my friend, is the food chain. And Co-operative Food Primary Logistics Services is the weird, wonderful, and slightly sweaty chain holding it all together.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a sudden, deep urge to go appreciate a sandwich.
