This is a family-run site. You can tell, because the staff actually smile and wave. They know your name by day two. Try getting that at a corporate holiday park.
Dogs are welcome. Obviously. There’s a dog walk on site. Your pooch can sniff all the sheep poo their heart desires. It’s pure canine bliss.
Kids run around like feral pixies. It’s safe. There’s a play area and a games room with a pool table. You might actually get to finish your coffee. Don’t hold your breath, but it’s possible.
What About the Weather? (It’s Yorkshire, Be Honest)
Look. It’s North Yorkshire. You will get all four seasons in one day. I’ve had sunburn followed by hail in the same afternoon. Cote Ghyll doesn’t care. The site drains well, so no swamp tents.

Pack a waterproof and a sense of humor. The rain makes the streams louder and the hills greener. It’s moody, dramatic, and beautiful. Bring a flask.
