Others claim a preacher named Brother Jed got so excited during a sermon he started shuffling his feet. And he never stopped. The congregation joined in. The name became legend.
What we do know: The church was founded in the 1800s. The sign out front proudly says “Dancing Baptist Church.” And they do dance—though more often it’s a lively, hand-clapping, foot-stomping praise.
