As Keating says, "We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race." It's a pretty deep statement, if you think about it - poetry is a way to express ourselves and connect with others on a deeper level. So, why not give it a try and see what kind of amazing things you can create?
Another Robin Williams quote that's super inspiring is "Poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for." It's like, what's the point of living if we're not experiencing these things? Keating's all about helping his students find the beauty in life and appreciate the little things. And, let's be real, who wouldn't want to be more like that?
It's also pretty cool to think about how Dead Poets Society was released back in 1989, but the themes and messages are still totally relevant today. I mean, who doesn't love a good underdog story about a charismatic teacher who inspires his students to rebel against the status quo? It's like, the ultimate feel-good movie that never gets old.
