Pride Park is brilliant for this. The branch is right by the main road, near the Derby County football stadium and that big Sainsbury’s. Seriously, you could probably see it from space if you squinted. It’s about a five-minute drive from Derby train station, which is perfect if you’ve just rolled into town.
There’s also plenty of parking. You don’t have to park in a field or perform a tricky parallel park on a hill. You just pull in, park up, and walk in. It’s almost too easy. I half expected a trap. But nope. Just good, honest, accessible car hire.
What If You’re a Bit Nervous?
Maybe you haven’t driven a van before. Or perhaps you’ve never hired a car in your life. Don’t panic. The team at Pride Park are patient. They’ll walk you around the vehicle, show you which button does what, and explain the fuel policy without using jargon that makes your brain fog up.
One of the lads even showed me how to adjust the wing mirrors on a van. Life-changing. I felt like a professional driver afterwards. I almost started wearing a high-vis vest for fun. (I didn’t. But I thought about it.)
