Not all Tube stations are cavernous. The shallowest is Shepherd’s Bush Market on the Hammersmith & City Line. It’s just 3 meters (10 feet) deep. You could practically jump down with an umbrella.
Another shallow charmer: New Cross. It’s only four meters down. You can hear people laughing on the platform from the street above. No epic stair climbs here.
