Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). While it heats up, unwrap your ham and pat it dry with paper towels—this helps the glaze stick like glue.
Place the ham cut-side down in a roasting pan. Add about a half-inch of water to the bottom of the pan—this creates steam, keeping the ham moist and happy. Cover it tightly with foil, pop it in the oven, and let it do its thing.
How long?
For a whole ham, plan on about 15–18 minutes per pound. For a half ham, aim for 18–20 minutes per pound. If your ham is already spiral-sliced (fancy!), check it after 12 minutes per pound—it heats up faster because it’s basically pre-cut for you.
Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temp. You want it to hit 140°F (60°C). That’s the sweet spot—warm, juicy, and ready to party.
