John Worboys, the man behind the headline, was a licensed black cab driver who preyed on women from 2002 to 2008. He’d pick up lone passengers, offer them doctored champagne or vodka, and then rob and sexually assault them. The number of victims? Police say at least 105, but it’s likely far more—maybe over 400.
Worboys’s trick was chillingly simple: he used his cab as a mobile hunting ground. He’d promise a free drink, spike it with a sedative, and then drive his victims around London while they were semi-conscious or unconscious. Creepy doesn’t even start to cover it.
