Pure water doesn’t really “expire.” It’s just H2O molecules hanging out. But plastic bottles do have an expiration date.
That date stamped on the bottle isn’t for the water. It’s for the plastic itself. Over time, cheap plastic can leach chemicals into your drink. Yum, right?
The U.S. FDA says bottled water has an indefinite shelf life if stored correctly. But “correctly” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.
