First, let’s give credit where it’s due. The core of everything Stitch is the 2002 classic, Lilo & Stitch. That’s the one where a lonely little girl adopts a chaotic alien experiment. It’s heartbreaking, hilarious, and has that coconut cake scene that makes you hungry every single time. So, one movie is a solid start.
But wait—did you know Disney released a direct-to-video sequel? Yes, they did. Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch came out in 2005. It’s actually pretty good! It fills in the gap between the first movie and the TV series. Stitch starts malfunctioning because his DNA was incomplete. Drama! Action! So now we’re at two movies.
Wait, There’s a Third One?
Oh, you bet there is. There’s also Stitch! The Movie. That one came out in 2003, and it’s basically a pilot for the TV show. It introduces Jumba’s other 625 experiments, all bouncing around Hawaii. It’s more of a long episode than a full movie, but Disney officially counts it. That puts us at three.
And here’s where it gets weird. There’s also a fourth one called Leroy & Stitch from 2006. This one is the grand finale of the TV series. It’s got a villain named Leroy (Stitch’s evil clone, obviously), and it wraps up the whole experiment-collecting arc. So, four movies just for the main Stitch timeline. But are we done? Are we ever?
