Got a heavily soiled load? Double it. Use one full cup. Think muddy soccer uniforms or bacon-grease towels. Don’t be shy.
Super stinky delicates? Cut it back to a quarter cup. You want freshness, not a science experiment. Delicates are drama queens.
Front-loader vs. top-loader
Front-loaders are fussy. They use less water. So start with a quarter cup and see how it goes. Too much foam? That’s not a bubble bath. Cut back.
Top-loaders are tanks. They love a good half cup. For extra smelly loads, go wild with a whole cup. They can handle it.
Always add baking soda directly to the drum. Not the dispenser drawer. The drawer is for detergent only. Trust me on this one. I learned the hard way.
