Scroll down and click the blue Create filter button. Boom! You just tamed the chaos. Now, every email that fits your rule will automatically be whisked away to your chosen folder—no more staring at it in your main inbox. It’s like hiring a butler without having to pay him in snacks.
Want to test it? Send yourself a test email from a different account. Check your inbox—it’s gone! But check your label folder (look on the left sidebar, under “Labels”). There it is, chilling in its new home. You’re basically a Gmail wizard now.
Pro Tip: Don’t Overthink It
You can create as many filters as you want—one for bills, one for newsletters, one for your cousin who only sends cat videos. Just don’t go overboard and make a filter for every single person you know. That’s how you end up with 50 folders and still no idea where your Amazon receipt went.
If a filter isn’t working perfectly, don’t panic. Go to Settings > See all settings > Filters and Blocked Addresses. You can edit, delete, or temporarily disable any filter. It’s like a filter undo button, but without the shame of actual undoing.
