You don’t need a lab coat to find a demand function. Start with real-world observation. How many pizzas did your local joint sell last Friday? What was the price? Jot down two or three points—like “$10 per pizza, 50 sold” and “$12 per pizza, 40 sold.”
If you’re feeling lazy (no judgment), just use a made-up example. Imagine you run a taco stand. At $3 per taco, you sell 200. At $4, you sell 150. You’ve already got the skeleton of a function. Boom—you’re a detective now.
