This is the smartest move, and it almost always works. Walk very slowly to the nearest window or sliding glass door. Do not run—wasps are faster than you think.
Open that window all the way. Remove the screen if you can (gently!). Then, back away to the opposite side of the room and wait.
Most wasps will see the giant rectangle of freedom within a few minutes. They’re not stupid; they just have tiny brains that are mostly focused on nectar and revenge. The breeze from outside will usually guide them right out. Problem solved, no drama.
