Once your seedling has a few real leaves and the last frost has passed, it’s time to move outside. But slowly. Put it outside for an hour the first day, two hours the next. This is called “hardening off.”
Don’t just yeet it into full sun. It will get sunburned. Yes, plants get sunburned. Trust me, I’ve done this. It’s tragic. You’ve been warned.
After a week of this gentle ritual, you can leave it out overnight (if it’s warm). Congratulations, you’ve got a toddler tree.
