What if your source was written by a whole organization, like the Modern Language Association or the Bureau of Cat Affairs? Use the group’s name in the citation. If the name is long, you can abbreviate it after the first mention.
First time: “(National Institute of Cat Studies 8).” Second time: “(NICS 12).” Just make sure you spell out the abbreviation in the first sentence, so your reader isn’t left guessing. No one likes a guessing game about cats. They’re already mysterious enough.
