At night, do a quick scan of your room. Check under your bed, inside your pillows (yes, I am serious), and inside your shoes if you left them out. I know it sounds paranoid, but it’s literally five seconds that saves you a heart attack. If you see a spider, don’t freak out—just grab a cup and a piece of paper and put it outside. You’re the benevolent ruler of this room.
Also, keep your bed away from the wall by at least a few inches. Spiders love to crawl from the wall onto your sheets. An island bed is a safe bed. And never, ever eat food in your room. Crumbs attract bugs, and bugs attract spiders. You’re basically setting up a buffet for them.
