You need exactly three bricks. No more, no less. This is not a baking recipe where you can substitute with tears. Bricks are not the same as stone bricks (the gray stuff you use for fancy floors). Bricks come from clay.
Where do you find clay? Swamps, rivers, and the bottom of shallow ponds. It looks like little gray-brown blotches on the water floor. Smack a few blocks with your shovel. You’ll get clay balls—each one a slimy, gray promise of future pottery.
A funny thing happens next: you must cook those clay balls in a furnace. Throw them in with some fuel (coal, wood, a stray cat you found—okay, not the cat). Out pop bricks. They are now hard, red, and ready for duty. You need three of these little red soldiers.
