If you skip the reset, that Change Oil Soon message becomes your persistent, slightly passive-aggressive roommate. It’ll flash every time you start the car, interrupting your morning jam session. Worse, it throws off the monitoring algorithm—so next time, you might get a false alarm at 30% oil life. That’s like your phone dying at 15% battery: technically a problem, but entirely preventable.
From a cultural standpoint, resetting your oil life is basically the adult version of passing a level in a video game. You pressed the right buttons, the screen congratulates you, and now you can move on to more interesting challenges. Like deciding what playlist to blast on the highway.
