Jon Richardson leaving is a shift in the furniture of our routine. You don't realise how much you rely on that familiar voice until it's not there for the next series.
It’s like your favourite playlist losing a track you always hummed along to. Sure, the other songs are still great, but you’ll definitely hit skip when that gap shows up.
A Little Bit of Hope
The good news is, Jon isn’t vanishing entirely. He’s not moving to a cave to catalogue his sock collection. He’s still out there, probably fretting about something else.
Plus, this is telly. Nothing stays the same forever. Maybe the new dynamic will surprise us. Maybe a new guest captain will bring a fresh kind of chaos we didn't know we needed.
But for now, it’s okay to feel a little pang. Pour yourself a cuppa, remember his best moments, and just be grateful we got to watch a man worry about everything for as long as we did.
Good luck, Jon. We hope wherever you go, the cushions are always perfectly fluffed.
