Inside, you’ll see a shiny little coin battery sitting in a snug cradle. Take a mental note of which side is facing up. Usually, you’ll see a “+” sign on the top side.
Pop the old battery out with your screwdriver or your fingernail. Seriously, just flick it out. It’s not bolted down—it’s just sitting there, being useless.
Dispose of the old battery responsibly. Don’t throw it in the trash like a barbarian. Recycle it or toss it in a battery bin. Mother Earth will thank you.
