First, you walk in and the smell hits you. It’s that weirdly comforting plastic scent of a fresh brick. You’re immediately a kid again. The whole place is built to make your inner child scream with delight.
You get a MINILAND exhibit that’s literally Birmingham in miniature. Think the Bull Ring, but made of 1.5 million bricks. It’s weirdly satisfying to see a tiny Selfridges building. They even have working trains and a day-to-night cycle that cycles every few minutes.
Funny detail: The tiny Lego people in MINILAND have very specific jobs. One is permanently stuck with a coffee cup. Another is forever falling off a bike. It’s like a soap opera in plastic.
Rides That Don’t Need a Fast Pass
Forget rollercoasters that make you lose your lunch. Here, you get a Merlin’s Apprentice ride. You pedal a magic broom and try to fly. I’m not great at it.
Pro tip: Pedal like your life depends on it to actually get airborne. If you slack off, you just bobble along the ground. It’s hilariously undignified. Kids will laugh at you.
Then there’s the 4D Cinema. They throw water, wind, and bubbles at your face. During one movie, a Lego dog sneezes on you. You will actually feel it. It’s both gross and brilliant.
