The Bakerloo Line (brown) is the underdog. It’s not flashy, but it takes you to Baker Street, where Sherlock Holmes supposedly lived. Surprising fact: the address, 221B Baker Street, didn’t exist when the stories were written. The Post Office had to invent it later. So yes, you’re visiting a fictional guy at a made-up address. Muggle magic at its best.

Get off at Paddington next, but don’t panic about the bear statue. He’s friendly. And huge. If you hug him, your travel companions will take a photo you’ll never live down.
The Jubilee Line: Glitter and Giant Wheels
The Jubilee Line (silver) is the diva of the network. It’s new, it’s fast, and it takes you straight to the London Eye at Waterloo. Warning: that giant Ferris wheel looks romantic, but it’s basically a slow-moving shopping window for London’s skyline. You’ll see Parliament, the Thames, and about a million other tourists’ heads in your photos. Worth it for the awkward couple selfie potential.
Hop off at Green Park for Buckingham Palace. Joke break: the Queen’s guards are not allowed to laugh, but you can totally make them crack by asking, “Where’s the loo?” (Spoiler: they don’t move. But you’ll feel powerful.)
