Let’s be honest, we’ve all had a Del Boy moment. You buy a “vintage” lamp from a charity shop for a fiver, convinced it’s worth a fortune. You polish it up, take a blurry photo, and list it on Facebook Marketplace.
Then, of course, nobody buys it. You end up using it as a bedside lamp for two years before taking it to the tip, muttering, “Next time, Rodney, next time.”
The difference between us and Del is that he’d actually sell that lamp to a bloke in a pub for a crate of cheap lager. We just end up with a house full of “projects.”
Technology? More Like "Techno-Trouble"
Imagine Del Boy trying to use a smart speaker. “Alright, Alexa, play Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep and order me a kebab.” The poor machine would probably explode from sheer confusion.
And Rodney? He’d spend three hours trying to scan a QR code on a menu, only to give up and just yell, “Oi, Dave! Can I have the full English, but hold the eggs?”
We moan about our Wi-Fi dropping out for ten minutes. The Trotters would have seen that as a luxury—they didn’t even have a landline for half the series. “We’re out of credit, Dave! Send a pigeon!”
