First, always test a hidden spot first. Carpets are sensitive. Some "colorfast" carpets will actually lighten if you use too much OxiClean. I learned this the hard way near my couch. Now I have a very clean, very pale square that nobody notices except me.
Second, don’t use boiling water. Hot water is great, but boiling water can set a stain, especially protein stains. Use warm tap water, like you’d use to wash a baby. Not that I recommend washing babies with OxiClean.
Finally, don't be a hero. If your carpet is old and the stain is epic, sometimes you just call a pro. But for 90% of life’s oops-moments—the spilled soda, the mud trail, the mystery blob—OxiClean is your cheap therapist.
It doesn’t judge your dirty carpet. It just bubbles up, does its job, and leaves you with a floor that doesn’t make you embarrassed to have guests over. And honestly, isn’t that the dream?
