Let’s be honest, the line-up is the real reason we’re all sweating over a ticket release date. Will it be the return of a 90s boyband? A soul legend you can’t name but you definitely know all the songs to? Nobody knows yet, and anybody who claims they do is probably selling you a bridge in London. The BBC keeps the artist list under lock and key until just before the sale.
Here’s my ironic take: we’ll probably all queue for hours, stress about getting any ticket at all, and then the act we were secretly hoping for won’t even be there. And you know what? We’ll still have a brilliant time. That’s the Radio 2 way. You bond with strangers over dodgy chips and a shared love for a cover band you’ve never heard of.
How to actually get the tickets (the survival guide)
First, create a BBC account right now. Do not wait until the day of the sale, because that’s when their servers will collectively sigh and crash. You need to be logged in before you even see the ticket page. It’s like getting a boarding pass before you reach the airport—just do it.

Second, have your payment details ready and rehearsed. I’m not joking. You should be able to type your card number faster than you can say “Ken Bruce.” Every second counts. And if you’re buying for a group, decide who the primary buyer is. No arguing over who clicked first when the queue starts.
Finally, don’t fall for resale scams. If someone offers you a ticket for twelve thousand pounds on a dodgy website, just laugh and walk away. The official resale platform or the BBC’s own system is the only way. Your bank account will thank you later.
