You might think these times are designed to frustrate you. They’re not. They’re a social experiment to see how resilient humans can be. Or it’s just NHS logistics. Either way, you’ll develop a sixth sense for detecting when Brenda is on her break.
One time, I called at 4:59 PM on a Friday. The receptionist answered, but her voice echoed like she was already halfway out the door. I heard a car engine start in the background. True story. I got an appointment for Monday at 10 AM. Victory.
So, to sum up: Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 6:30 PM. Wednesday, 8 AM to 1 PM. Saturday, 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Sunday, closed (go hug a teddy bear). And bring snacks, patience, and a good audiobook for the phone queue.
Now go forth and get your flu jab. Or don’t. I’m not your GP—I’m just a bloke in a café who really, really cares about opening times. You’re welcome.
