So here’s the thing: I eventually got through to St Mary’s Wharf Police Station on that rainy night. The officer on the phone was patient, kind, and didn’t laugh when I explained the cat situation. (The cat, by the way, was returned to its owner. It had a taste for Thai food.) The phone number worked, even if it took 20 minutes to connect. That’s the real takeaway: it’s not perfect, but it gets the job done.
Next time you need to call St Mary’s Wharf Police Station, just remember: 0300 123 8111. Save it in your contacts now. Your future self—drenched, holding a stray animal, or simply lost—will thank you. And if you see a police officer in Brighton, maybe just wave. They’ve got enough on their plate. Trust me.
