Yes! And I’m not talking about that “remastered in HD” nonsense where they just sharpen the textures a bit. Nintendo is reconstructing the entire world of Hyrule. The Great Deku Tree will look so detailed you’ll want to hug his roots. Lon Lon Ranch? It’ll have dynamic lighting so the sunsets look like a painting.
The best part? They’re keeping the soul of the original. The music, the story, the creepy feeling you get in the Shadow Temple—all there. But now, Epona won’t gallop like a wooden rocking horse, and Link’s facial expressions will actually show emotion when he’s, you know, failing at the Water Temple.
What About the Switch 2 Features?
Oh, you know Nintendo loves their hardware gimmicks, and the Switch 2 is no exception. They’re using the new “Hybrid C-Stick” for a dedicated shield-and-targeting system that feels silky smooth. Also, the new “Echo” button on the right Joy-Con lets you whistle for a warp mid-dungeon, which is a godsend for the aforementioned Water Temple.
The game will run in 4K docked and a buttery 60 frames per second in handheld mode. No more slowdown when you throw a bomb near a cluster of Keese, my friend. That’s the kind of quality-of-life upgrade I can get behind. Also, the load times? Vanished. Poof. Gone like Navi when you need directions.
