Picture this: you meet a charming guy in a pub in the 1990s. He’s funny, a bit rough around the edges, and seems totally normal. That’s exactly what happened to a woman named Linda—only her date turned out to be a serial predator named John Sweeney.
This guy wasn’t just a bad date who chews with his mouth open. He was a very violent man who later confessed to murdering two women. And Linda? She somehow survived his brutal attack and then decided to hunt him down herself. Yes, you read that right.
The Attack That Didn’t Break Her
After their meet-cute gone wrong, Sweeney kidnapped Linda, tortured her, and left her for dead in a field. But here’s the kicker: Linda didn’t stay dead. She crawled to a road, flagged down a car, and—get this—she didn’t go to the police crying. She went home, took a shower, and started planning her next move.
I don’t know about you, but after being stabbed and strangled, my game plan would involve a lot of chocolate and a Netflix marathon. Linda’s plan was: “I’m going to find this guy and make sure he never hurts anyone again.” Honestly, that takes a special kind of guts (and a really impressive supply of adrenaline).
