Labor Day has a pretty cool history, though - it was first created to honor the working class and the labor movement in the US. The first Labor Day parade was held in New York City back in 1882, and it was meant to be a day of rest and recreation for workers. Today, it's still a day to celebrate the contributions and achievements of American workers.
So, what can you do on Labor Day if you're not in school? Well, for starters, you could host a backyard BBQ or head out to a nearby park or beach for a fun day out. Many stores and restaurants also offer Labor Day sales and discounts, so it's a great time to score some deals.
