If you want something in between—soft like mink but not from an animal—there’s silk. Obviously, it’s not literal silk from a silkworm’s cocoon (that would be insanely expensive and weird). Most “silk” lashes are made from synthetic silk fibers, which are a blend of polyester and other polymers. They’re lightweight, have a natural sheen, and don’t scream “I’m fake.”
Be warned: the term “silk” is often just marketing fluff. It’s like calling a cheap handbag “leather-luxe.” But the texture is genuinely nicer than basic plastic, so if you want that soft flutter without the mink guilt, go for “silk” lashes. They’re my personal go-to, and I feel very fancy saying it.
