Let’s be real: some stores deserve a break. Trader Joe’s, Aldi, and Whole Foods are famously closed on Easter Sunday. It’s like they’re saying, “We love you, but we’re going to eat chocolate in our pajamas.” And honestly? Good for them.
So if you’re a fan of dark chocolate almonds or affordable produce, plan ahead. I once made the mistake of thinking my local Aldi would be open. I ended up at a gas station buying a can of baked beans for Easter dinner. It worked, but it wasn’t pretty.
Again, always check specific store hours online or via apps like Google Maps. They update holiday hours faster than your aunt posts Easter photos on Facebook. A quick search can save you a very sad car ride.
Why You Should Care (Besides the Obvious Panic)
Knowing what’s open isn’t just about avoiding a crisis. It’s about peace of mind. You can spend Easter morning focusing on what matters: family, laughter, and hiding plastic eggs behind the couch. You don’t want to be the person who rushes out during the brunch chaos.

Think of it like this: Easter is a day for jelly beans and joy, not for hitting the brakes at every closed sign. When you know the open stores, you can plan your day like a pro. You’ll be the calm one sipping coffee while others panic-spiral.
And honestly, sometimes the best memories come from those last-minute runs. My husband once grabbed a giant chocolate bunny from a Walmart that was closing, and he paid with a $20 bill. That bunny had a missing ear, but we still laugh about it every Easter. That’s the spirit.
