First, you have to wrestle with the fact that the Seahawks play in the Pacific time zone. That sounds straightforward, but the NFL schedule gods love to play tricks on us. One week it’s a 1:25 PM kickoff, and you’ve perfectly timed your beer run. The next week? It’s a 5:20 PM Sunday Night Football slot, and your entire dinner schedule is thrown into chaos.
It’s like trying to plan a barbecue when the weather forecast keeps changing from “sunny” to “possible meteor.” You just have to roll with it. The official time is whatever your friend who “always knows” says it is, plus or minus fifteen minutes for commercials you’ll watch anyway.
The “Is It Too Early To Drink?” Calculation
If the game starts at 10:00 AM Pacific, you face a philosophical dilemma. Does a Bloody Mary at 9:50 AM count as breakfast or as a pre-game ritual? I say it’s a breakfast smoothie with aspirations. You’ll see your neighbor, Dave, already grilling brats before the noon sun is even overhead. You don’t judge Dave. You salute Dave.
But if it’s a 1:25 PM start, the vibe changes completely. That’s the “goldilocks zone” of game times. You have time for a nap, a walk, and a deep dive into your fantasy football lineup. You feel prepared, like a squirrel who has hoarded exactly enough nuts and dip for the next four hours.
