Here’s a sneaky variable. If the Lions are playing at Ford Field, the time is usually what you expect. Eastern time zone, baby. But if they’re on the road in a different time zone—like the West Coast—the kickoff might flip. A 1:00 PM game in Detroit is a 10:00 AM game in Los Angeles. Your brain melts a little. That’s normal.
The NFL always lists times in Eastern Time, so you do the math. Or, you know, just subtract three hours if you’re on the West Coast and cry a little.
What About the Playoffs?
Oh, you’re already thinking about the playoffs? I love your optimism. But the playoff times are a mystery wrapped in a riddle. They announce them about a week before, usually. You’ll see things like 1:00 PM, 4:30 PM, or 8:15 PM. The only guarantee is that your heart rate will spike no matter what.
