Step one: Set a recurring Google Alert or put the Seahawks schedule on your phone’s home screen. I’m serious—do it right now. I’ll wait. (Taps foot.) Done? Good. Because the fastest way to embarrassment is showing up to a watch party and going, “Wait, they already played? I thought it was next week!” That’s how you get demoted to the plastic chair in the corner.
Step two: Check the week’s schedule on Wednesday. The NFL announces flex scheduling (where they move games to later times) a few days ahead. If you assume a 1 PM game and it got flexed to 4 PM, you’ll be the person eating nachos at 10 AM “just to be safe.” Don’t be that person. Be the hero who walks in exactly as the coin flips.
Seahawks Game Time: Todays Kickoff
Step three: Remember time zones. If you’re visiting your cousin in New York and they say “the game is at 4,” they mean 4 PM Eastern. That’s 1 PM Pacific. You will miss the first quarter. You will blame the “time zone conspiracy.” Save yourself the headache—just ask, “Is that Seattle time or human time?”
The One Exception (NFL Ireland Games, etc.)
Okay, so sometimes the Seahawks play overseas—like in Germany or London. Those games kick off at 6:30 AM Pacific Time. Yes, you read that right. Six. Thirty. In the morning. This is the football equivalent of a dawn patrol surf session: you do it for the bragging rights, and you’ll be asleep by halftime. Just set your alarm, make a pot of coffee so strong it could fuel a rocket, and wear your jersey to bed. Nobody will judge you. Actually, they will. But you’ll be awake for the touchdown, so who’s laughing now?
