First, download the Citymapper app and give it a little kiss. It’s faster than TfL’s own app for rerouting. Second, consider the bus. Yes, it’s slower, but it’s also a great place to people-watch and judge other people’s life choices.
Third, embrace the walk. London is actually a lovely city when you’re not underground in a metal tube smelling like yesterday’s bin. You might discover a cute café or a weird statue.
And finally, work from home if you can. No shame in that. Your boss probably hates the Tube strike as much as you do. Just send that email from your sofa in your pyjamas; we won’t tell.
Tube strike is ON - but TfL insists there is still time to avert chaos
A Quick Cheat Sheet for This Week
Tuesday: Expect delays before 9 AM and after 5 PM. Bring snacks. Thursday: Same story, but worse. Prepare for the walk of shame into the office.
Wednesday and Friday? Probably fine. The unions like to give you false hope before smacking you with another strike next week. It’s a classic move.
Check the TfL status page every morning until you see green. If it’s all red, just laugh. It’s better than crying, trust me.
