If history is anything to go by—and it usually is, because festivals are creatures of habit—the Reading 2026 lineup will likely drop in early December 2026. Think of it as your holiday gift that doesn’t need wrapping.
Specifically, keep your eyes peeled around the first or second week of December. It’s usually a Tuesday or Wednesday morning, because festivals love to ruin your productivity in the most wonderful way.
Last year (for 2026), it came out on December 4th. So mark that date in your phone, and maybe set a backup alarm just in case. You know, for science.
Why December? Why Not January?
Great question! You’d think they’d wait until January, when everyone’s bored and broke. But nope—Reading knows we’re all desperate for a summer dream during the dark, cold winter.
Dropping it in December does two things: First, it gets people talking over Christmas dinner. "Pass the cranberry sauce—and did you see Blink-182 is headlining?" Second, it lets you buy tickets as a gift for yourself. You deserve it.
Also, it gives the festival time to laugh at us while we refresh the website 400 times. We are the clowns in this circus, and we love it.
