So here’s my best guess, and I’m sticking to it: The Easter Bunny is currently taking a nap in a hollow tree somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. He’s wrapped in a blanket made of woven dandelion stems. He’s dreaming of next year’s egg design, and maybe a napkin that doesn’t have “Happy Easter” printed on it.
And you know what? That’s a beautiful thought. We don’t need to know his GPS coordinates. The fun is in the wonder. So next time you see a rabbit hopping across a lawn in July, just smile. Give it a little wave. It might just be him, taking a well-earned break, until he decides it’s time to hide eggs all over again.
After all, isn’t it more interesting to ask the question than to get a boring answer? Yeah, I think so too.
