Today, you can visit the Museum of the Cherokee Indian in North Carolina or the Cherokee Heritage Center in Oklahoma and see their story told with pride. You can hear the Cherokee language on the radio, watch stickball games, and attend festivals that celebrate a culture that refuses to be erased.
So, where was the Cherokee located? They were everywhere they needed to be—mountain peaks, river valleys, and eventually, the wide plains of Oklahoma.
