Season 2 introduces us to a fresh cast of wealthy, neurotic vacationers, and honestly, they’re all terrible in their own charming ways. There’s Cameron and Daphne, the impossibly fit couple who are either in a throuple or just really good at hiding resentment. Then there’s Ethan and Harper, the tense, tech-bro pair who look at Cameron like he’s a virus in human form. Spoiler alert: none of these four drowns, but their emotional swim through infidelity is exhausting enough.
Let’s not forget Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge, reprising her iconic role) and her hapless husband Greg. Tanya is back with her tragic, boozy energy, and Greg is… well, Greg is the guy you’d trust to hold your wallet but not your secrets. And then there’s Portia, Tanya’s assistant, who gets tangled up with a charming, sketchy British guy named Jack. Spoiler: Jack is not the body.
The Real M.V.P. (Most Vulnerable Person)
But the crown for “most likely to be fish food” goes to Quentin, a campy, fabulously wealthy Englishman who invites Tanya to a palazzo for a “private” night. He’s played by Tom Hollander, and he oozes such smooth, sinister charm that you just know he’s up to something. Quentin and his crew—including a young, shirtless “nephew” named Jack—are involved in a scheme to inherit Tanya’s fortune. And let me tell you, the plan is stupidly elaborate and involves a boat, a lot of cocaine, and a very specific murder.
Who Dies at the End of White Lotus Season 2?
When the finale hits, Tanya realizes Greg is in on it (yes, Greg is the worst). She then stumbles onto Quentin’s boat, finds a gun, and in a panic, starts blasting. She kills Quentin, his friend, and the boat’s captain. But Tanya survives the gunfight—only to slip on a tiny step, hit her head on the deck, and drown in a puddle of seawater. Yes, you read that right: she tripped. The grand heiress who escaped a past murderer meets her end by way of a slip-and-fall. It’s darkly hilarious and painfully ironic.
