Here’s where it gets fun. Patrick’s last meal? Jelly beans. Seriously. In the autopsy scene, the coroner pulls a few out of his stomach. The show’s writers have a twisted sense of humor. Also, Armstrong commits the murder in a room with a “Do Not Disturb” sign—but the cameras catch him anyway. Talk about a rookie mistake.
Another gem: Patrick’s phone contains a voicemail from Grace saying, “I’m sorry.” Sorry for what? We never find out. It’s a red herring so big, you could fish with it. The fandom still argues about it on Reddit. What did she apologize for? Did she know about the blackmail? The show leaves it as a delicious, unanswered tease.

Why This Topic Is So Fun to Chat About
Because it’s a perfect storm of TV drama tropes. You have a romantic rival who gets iced, a dirty cop doing the deed, and a hero (Nolan) framed for it all. Plus, Armstrong’s downfall is spectacular—he gets caught because of a tiny detail: a hotel key card. It’s like the ultimate game of “Where’s Waldo?” with justice.
And let’s not forget the audience reaction. When Armstrong’s revealed as the killer, fans went ballistic. Twitter exploded with memes of Nolan’s shocked face. Some people even rewound the episode to catch the clues, like Armstrong’s subtle smirk when Patrick’s name comes up. Chekhov’s smirk, anyone?
