Here’s a twist: bulls used in rodeos and bull riding don’t have nose rings. Those bulls are bred for agility and aggression, and handlers use flank straps (not rings) to encourage bucking. The nose ring would be useless—you can’t steer a bull mid-buck. Plus, it’s a safety thing: a ring could get caught on equipment and hurt the animal.
Same goes for fighting bulls in Spanish bullrings. No rings there either. So if you see a bull with a nose ring in a movie, it’s probably a farm bull, not a rodeo star. Hollywood gets that wrong more often than not.
